The Miami Dolphins (3-0) are the only undefeated team in the AFC following their Week 3 home win over the Buffalo Bills 21-19. Now the Dolphins travel on a short week to tackle the Cincinnati Bengals (1-2). The consensus Week 4 odds show the Bengals as a -3.5 point favorite, and the game total is up to 48.5 points.
Despite more spread bets and money on the Dolphins at the leading U.S. sportsbooks, and Miami having a better power rating than the Bengals at this time, sharp money is coming in on Cincinnati.
Professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik from Las Vegas says “this is the situational spot of the year to bet on the Bengals,” on his weekly NFL betting segment with host Ross Tucker on the Even Money Podcast. “The power ratings would say to bet on Miami, but the Bengals are going to kill the Dolphins,” Fezzik added.
More bettors are also counting on a higher scoring game in hopes that former top draft picks Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa will light up the scoreboard again like they did their college matchup.
Cincinnati fans will be loud and in force counting on the Bengals to Rule the Jungle at Paycor Stadium Thursday night and payoff Bengals bettors. Cooler mid-50 degree temperatures and light winds are in the forecast.
MORE FOR YOU
That’s far from the heavy humidity and hot temps the Dolphins just played in to beat Buffalo in South Florida. Adding to the significant situation as Fezzik noted is that the Dolphins defense was on the field for a NFL season high 90 plays against the Bills, who out-gained the Dolphins 497 to 212 yards. Even with 31 first downs for the Bills to just 15 for the Dolphins, Buffalo couldn’t pull out the win.
Now Miami wheels back on a short week, running on fumes having also won the week prior with a huge fourth quarter comeback and major energy exerted to beat Baltimore, 42-38. Recall the Ravens pilled up 473 yards at a knife through butter 8.8 yards per play.
This looks like a great spot and match-up for QB Joe Burrow, RB Joe Mixon and the talented trio of Bengals receivers to explode against the Dolphins.
The stand alone prime time games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday night always generate bigger betting action and interest. And prop bets become more popular on these games along with Same Game Parlays, which also have a refund option if the bet loses at FanDuel Sportsbook.
